Before comparing samples from two mould trials, agree how the material condition will be identified and recorded. A drying instruction, the settings entered on a dryer and evidence of the material condition are separate records. This proposed review sheet helps a buyer ask for comparable evidence; it does not prescribe a drying recipe.
Identify the material used for each sample group
Record the supplier, full grade, batch reference where available, colourant and agreed regrind condition. Connect each sample group to that material record. If a material or blend changes between runs, give it a new record rather than presenting both runs as the same baseline.
Use the instructions for the actual grade
Ask for the applicable supplier processing document and its revision. Do not copy a drying temperature, duration or moisture limit from a different resin family or grade. BASF's ecovio processing brochure, for example, gives material-specific drying instructions and discusses moisture sensitivity. That document is not evidence that Jump Mould uses that material or that its settings apply to another project.
Separate the planned condition from the observation
Before the trial, agree which dryer settings, start and finish times, material transfer steps and interruptions will be recorded. Where a moisture result is required, agree the method, sampling point and acceptance criterion with the material supplier and project team. A missing result should be recorded as missing, rather than replaced by the dryer setpoint or a visual judgement.
Keep an interpretable comparison
Assign a sample group to the relevant material record, trial time and agreed process baseline. List changes and interruptions alongside the samples. If the material condition is uncertain, keep that uncertainty visible when deciding whether a sample supports an acceptance decision. Do not assign a defect to the mould solely because it appeared during a mould trial.
Close the record before closing the issue
For an unresolved observation, record the question, responsible reviewer, next evidence required and the conditions to retain or change at the next trial. Keep material preparation and mould changes distinguishable. Bring the current part files, material grade and proposed trial plan to the project review so that the required evidence can be agreed before sampling.
